The bottom tab that secures it to the motor broke and due to the safety shutoff with the tab broken you had to push down on the bowl or it would not run. We love the food processor and use it much more then we thought when we first got it but I can't say that the quality is best.

(More customer reviews)I love this item. It's hard plastic and the perfect shape. It came with my cuisinart food processor but I use it to cut brownies, cakes, pastries in the baking pan without scratching my bakeware. It is perfect for cutting and then lifting it out. This is pretty much all I use for this purpose. Others have seen me use it and have asked for it. In fact when I borrowed some a couple times they misteriously disappeared so I had to order some for back-up. I could never find them in the stores but had luck at Amazon. I have given several as gifts and even gave some to relatives in Europe they liked it so much. Definately worth it for the price.

Cuisinart CBT-700 Poweredge 700 Watt Blender With Juice Jar Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this blender since it looked sturdy and the large glass jar is great and easy to clean. I used it to puree some Butternut Squash soup around Thanksgiving, and it did a good job with that task. I made the same soup a month later, and after I blended the third batch (glass jar full), the blender blades would no longer spin. The blender would power on, then hitting any of the buttons, puree, low, high, smoothie, etc., would result in no action. The motor would appearantly no longer turn.
Undaunted, I returned the blender to Bed Bath and Beyond where I bought it, and got a replacement for free. Great! I then used the replacement to blend another batch, and then upon blending a second batch at two minutes into the three minute blending time, it shut off, never to operate properly again. Same problem as the first blender of the exact same model. It would power on, but again, it didn't matter which button I pushed, the blades would no longer turn.
I don't know if this was a motor malfunction, or if the electronics (circuit board, etc.) somehow where damaged, but the blender was no longer of use to me or anyone else.
It is a nice looking appliance, the glass jar is great, easy to remove and clean, but my experience suggests you not buy this model.

The part is quite a bit shorter than the old one, and a more narrow diameter. I had to pay almost $6.00 postage to get it and now more to return it. Not pleased at all. I received my Cuisinart processor as a wedding gift several years ago, but never watched the video which accompanied it. I finally watched it and saw what things I could do with additional slicing tools. I like using this to slice cucumbers and carrots. Very fast and even slices. The grater has been wonderful for cheese, saving me hours of pain that would be caused by doing it by hand.
