I've had this model for years and the bowl works well under any circumstances EXCEPT when I attempted making bread crumbs with dried baked bread. DON'T TRY THIS WITH THIS ITEM. It is the reason why I had to replace the work bowl.
The hardened bread will scratch the inside of the bowl and/or will become caught over/under the blade jamming the bowl causing the tabs to crack that hold the bowl in place to the base. If you must try making bread crumbs, remove all the crust first before attempting to grind the inner portion. This was my mistake. And only use commercial white sandwich bread.
Other than that, the item works like a champ!!
