(More customer reviews)Great so far! I make Hot Pepper sauce every year and needed something with enough power to be able to grind up the pepper skins and make the sauce very smooth. Even my Cuisinart food processor has trouble with this task, plus it would leak hot sauce everywhere. Just got this and tried it on 2 different tasks. 1) I made a blended ice drink that was so thick it wouldn't pour! 2) I used it to grind some of my leftover pepper skins and vinegar. It worked very well but didn't grind up the seeds. Probably asking for too much there. Seems like it really has 550 watts.
I was nervous about buying a brand with no reviews, however I checked out their website and they have a 15 month warranty and their other products got good reviews. All the labels on it are in spanish with a small user guide in english. I compared it to the $100 Kitchenaid and I like this one better, especially at only $40. All the components seem well made and are stainless steel.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this KitchenAid after looking at mixers for quite awhile. I kept coming back to the KitchenAid, as it was the same mixer I'd seen in my mother's kitchen, as well as the kitchens of many people I know who are avid chefs.
Things I like about this:
1. It is very heavy duty. There is nothing cheap feeling about this mixer. The bowl fits solidly into the lifting arms, and even when mixing dough at high speed, the mixer barely moves at all.
2. It comes with the basic attachments you will use constantly. We've made many doughs and mixes, and the motor has handled everything we've thrown at it.
Things I don't like about this mixer:
1. When using the whisk attachment for trying to make some whipped cream, it didn't feel like it was going all the way down into the bowl, and after 5 minutes, it hadn't frothed up into whipped cream. Perhaps it failed as I was using half and half instead of heavy whipping cream, but my hand mixer has worked on this in the past. I see there is an adjustment screw, and maybe this will correct the problem
2. Doesn't include a mixing shield. When using a lot of flour or light ingredients, it would be nice to have some sort of quick-release shield.
3. Accessories are not cheap!
Overall, I'd say if you are on the fence--buy this mixer. If you don't think you'd use it--think again. We make great muffins, batters, doughs (really good pizza dough!).

(More customer reviews)I am a huge juicer. Every morning my wife and I juice. We noticed that our juiceman jr was not efficiently juicing our green vegies. It was wasting 90% of them. The green veggies (expensive I might add) went right into the plastic bin hardly touched. I went to Jamba Juice and they explained how an auger presses the green juices - and, that's what Jamba uses for their wheat grass....well, the rest is history. I did my homework and found out that augers are more efficient just like Jamba explained. And, kitchens best walked me through the entire thing. Plus, they offered a 90 day money back warranty. They are incredibly nice and I can't believe they offer that kind of awesome money back gaurantee. Anyway, they are RIGHT about the juicer - it absolutely presses out 95% more green juice than the Jack Lalane and Juice man Jr. styles..and it does a better job on apples, ginger, and everything else too. The ONLY down side is - it's a slower process. But, in life - you can't have everything. I would much rather take a minute or two more each day and get my monies worth out of the fruits and veggies I buy than to speed through it and waste my food. Also, I seriously think it tastes better too!! Reason being, the other style spins it so fast - I swear it tasted "burned" sometimes. The Samson seems sweeter and more mellow. Anyway, trust me - you won't go wrong with this juicer or this company. Lovely company. Fair price too. Nobody offers a 90 day warranty...not even KMART OR WALLMART!! Nuff said. Buy it - you will thank me later.

(More customer reviews)I've owned my BAMIX hand blender for the past 12-years. It has never let me down and it truly is the most versatile kitchen device in my arsenal of cooking appliances. The machine works well between mixing & blending items on a hot stove, to crushing ice in in a single glass for making margaritas, all within seconds apart. The open ended design allows it to get at all the material you are chopping & mixing, and clean up is truly fast and easy. I've recently bought another hand mixer this year, because I misplaced my BAMIX hand blender. Anyway, what a disapointment to find that this major-named-brand of mixer, only has one blade, and it can't fit into a normal drinking glass. This past month I found my tried-n-true BAMIX hand blender, and was so grateful that I threw out the practically new hand mixer. Now that's true dedication to a product.
I have not seen anything close to the design of this hand blender on the market to this day that can replace this amazing machine. My only complaint is that I wish the price would come down. After all, it is one of the most expensive hand blenders on the market, but it is certainly the best.

(More customer reviews)So, after 30 years, we needed a new blender. Hmmm. My wife and I hadn't a clue where to start nor what was out there. On my first two internet searches all I found were the two extremes: small fractional Hp motors or the ridiculously priced $400 to $500 unit.
And yes, of course we want to crush ice - who doesn't? I have enough engineering background to know that a 0.2 to 0.5 Hp motor is NOT going to crush ice. Finally, we found the KitchenAid models! Some were 0.9 Hp, which is more like it. The pitcher (I call it) was a larger diameter and a little squat - perfect design for better blending, not to mention storage.
We decided that two speeds just wasn't enough, 3 speeds would be borderline and we certainly didn't want anything ridiculous like 10 or 15 speeds. (That's what they do when the motor is underpowered to do the job.) We settled on the KitchenAid KSB465Wh 4-speed with 48 ounce jar and 0.9 Hp motor. The weight wasn't given but the appearance gave you the idea that the base was good and heavy - a prerequisite.
We've used it several times starting about a month ago - it's perfect. It's even better than the one that lasted 30 yrs. The pitcher is dishwasher safe, it has something they call "intelli-speed" which adjusts the horsepower as needed to deliver constant speed. This is something where most blenders fall short, you put something heavy in it and the motors just slows down. The base is good and heavy - hurray, no more tipping over. The ad doesn't mention this but you do NOT dissasemble the pitcher for cleaning! Another big plus.
By the way those $40 to $60 blenders don't work and don't last. This one is priced around $72 and you get what you pay for. A very solid unit with a decent motor and good features. And yes, it does a marvelous job grinding ice - a whole tray at a time. And, if you let it go for about 10 seconds you have ice "powder" - it's better than our ice shaver for snow cones.
Blending is far superior to our old blender. It digests even the tough stuff easily. We haven't yet really needed to use it but it has pulsed speeds for those really tough materials. I'd recommend THIS blender to anyone who doesn't need to grind nails.

(More customer reviews)First, let me respond to a few poor reviews that made me a little concerned about purchasing this blender. One reviewer said "The little plastic "plug" in the lid fell through into the blender as I was using it". He may have gotten a defective one, but the one that I got would have no realistic way for the plastic "plug" to fall through the hole in the lid. It is very well made and would have to be forced VERY HARD for it to even have a chance of making it through - regardless of the angle at which you put the plug. Another reviewer said "the one I received had a jar that did not sit comfortably on base." Again, if that happened I hate it for that guy. The jar I got sat on the base quite well. Another reviewer said, "You CANNOT get your goods back out of this thing without making a mess." The blender I got is very easy to pour from.
Now let me tell you how awesome this thing is. I had a Hamilton Beach blender for a few years that did okay. It would make smoothies and shakes, but would take quite a while and would ALWAYS leave chunks of ice that did not get blended. Even if I left it on for a full minute it would not get the job done. When I used this new Oster 6684 for the first time I made a shake the way that I normally do with some fruit, milk, and ice. After about 10 seconds I could not find a single chuck of ice in the entire shake. In two years with my old blender there were always chunks of ice - always. I could not be any happier with the Oster. Hope this is helpful.

KitchenAid 5-Speed Custom Metallic Blenders Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned a lot of blenders and this one is very impressive. I was tempted to give it 4 stars as it is not the best blender I have ever owned. That distinction goes to the Vita-Mix which has a nuclear reactor for a base, sounds like a Harley and cost as much as a microwave but if you need a blender that can crush anything and make flour and HOT soup....well....but back to the KitchenAid.
First it looks great. As a home chef, having a sleek modern looking kitchen is important. Second it is easy to clean... I will never own a push button (i.e. old Oster-type) blender again. Nor one with a multi piece jar. One leak can and has ruined an evening or party, as you run to grab paper towel and dish clothes to control the margarita or soup that is running across your counter and down your cabinets. Then the fun of cleaning your blender nooks begin....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Now the really impressive part. I have owned a Waring for years. Everyone always raves about it and if you have a thin liquid, it works great. But for crushing ice and making smoothies, it just flat out sucks. So I sought out an ice crushing (margaritas), sealed jar (gravies/soups), lightweight, large capacity (parties), easy touch (easy to clean), piece of art. The KitchenAid is all those things and has a logic built in that controls the blade speed. It knows how well it is crushing the ice and modulates the motor to ensure an even snow like texture that is incredible. The same system is also built into the other modes, measuring resistance to step the motor up, then back it down to ensure smooth results.
This is my first KitchenAid product, but it will not be my last. BRAVO

(More customer reviews)I got this based only on price, you can't get a blender for less than $23 even at your local stores. I received it this past weekend and I put it to the ultimate test: Iced drinks! I put some ice cubicals, without precrushing them, and this little guy performed great! I then added some juice and fruits and enjoyed a wonderful iced beverage. Highly recommended also if you lift weights and need an easy-to-clean blender to mix the unmixable protein shake. All in all a great product and so far so good. I give it an extra point for not using glass (i.e. does not break) and for being extra easy to clean.

Country Living Hand Grain Mill Review

(More customer reviews)The country living grain mill is simply the best. It's solidly built to last a lifetime and easy to use. You really can't appreciate this mill until you try a cheaper one. It seems a little pricy, but you get what you pay for. If you are serious about grinding your own wheat (beans, corn etc) don't waste your time and money on anything less. You will either be discouraged and quit or you will eventually upgrade to a nicer mill like this one.
I bought mine about a year ago because I made the mistake of grinding my own wheat to make bread. I had a cheaper (but still quite serviceable) mill Hand Grain Mill for beer making. The difference in flavor and texture of fresh ground wheat flour is profound. It hooked me immediately and I have never gone back. The trouble is, grinding wheat flour by hand can be a soul destroying task. My next purchase was an electric mill. BlendTec Kitchen Mill - Grain and Flour Mill. It worked as advertised, but it was LOUD and cleanup was a real chore.
I finally broke down and bought the country living mill and motorized it using a belt drive and electric motor. It works perfectly fine without the motor, but I am very lazy. If you want to hand crank it, an extension bar for the hand crank is a nice addition that will make the job almost effortless.
This is a genuine flour mill that produces excellent fine flour in a single pass...or you can open it up to make a courser meal or a cracked grain. It works with any non-oily seeds and would probably serve for oil seeds if you were patient and cleaned the working parts frequently. It has very large steel plates that make short work of turning wheat into flour. You have to try it to really feel the difference, but I love mine and would buy another if mine were lost.
I highly recommend this product whether you want to run it by hand, by bicycle or by motor. As far as I am concerned, it's the best hand mill available anywhere.

(More customer reviews)I've only had this blender for about 5 days but I am very impressed. I like how it has an all-metal drive. The main reason we bought the blender was to make smoothies, malts and mixed drinks. We have made the later two so far and I'm extremely impressed with how it pulverizes the ice. I also like how there is a frozen drink setting that does everything including reversing the blades. We bought the additional milkshake blade and I am extremely impressed with that as well. I don't know about durability since I just got it but it seems to be really well made. It is fairly loud when blending ice. I expected this though so I wouldn't consider that a downside. I would recommend this to anyone. By far the best blender I have had.

Jaffrey Cider Press Review

(More customer reviews)This press is wonderful. We were able to do 500 pounds of apples into 30 gallons of cider in just 8 hours. I was sceptical about how well the press would work with as fast as we were going, but the pomace was very dry when it came out of the press. (I cooked the pomace in the steam juicer and it made great applesauce.) The press was VERY easy to clean, also. You do have to apply polyurethne after you get it, and it does not come with the wheels that are in the picture, so it is not as easy to move around as it looks. The chopper did whole apples as long as a strong teenage boy or a man was cranking. The rest of us cut the apples in half. All in all, it was well worth the cost.

My business with Amazon has ended. Such a shame because I had always enjoyed superior service and products. I guess growing pains are responsible. 'Metal Ware' plastic coffee grinder is not "pro" at all.

It does not compare to the commercial milk I was buying. I am blown away and highly recommend it!! My Kids love the nut milk that I make for them for hot chocolate and I use the soymilk in their cereal for breakfast. I am really happy to be able to make so many different types of healthy milks. One of the extra pluses for me is that I have made a "Green" choice by not having to buy tetra-pak milk anymore. For our family this appliance was a perfect fit."

(More customer reviews)I got this item for Christmas this year, and at first I was disappointed, because I had really wanted a Magic Bullet. Now, I realize I was wrong. I love the rocket blender. I use it at least once a day, sometimes more, for smoothies and blended drinks. I am unable to comment on how it does on regular foods because I haven't tried to make anything else, but just as a single-serve easy-clean smoothie maker it's already worth the money. I have heard of people complaining in reviews about the magic bullet not being able to crush ice, but I use whole ice cubes in every drink and my rocket blender crushes every piece and blends it well. I also think it's better for the design factor, it is much better looking than a magic bullet to leave out on my counter, of course it's a little bigger than a coffee cup, but no one should believe everything they hear in infomercials anyway. Even the plastic drink cups look nicer than those "party mugs" they show on the magic bullet commercial. The best reason I would choose this over a magic bullet? It's half the price.

I look forward toward juicing and using this juicer every morning, noon or whatever time daily. My diet has greatly improved and my getting a variety of greens into my diet has greatly increased. This unit juices anything you want to. I have lost 23 pounds since I received my juicer by incorporating it into my diet plan. Love making my own nut butters, milks, sorbets, ice cremes, etc. All are healthy and good for me and taste great to booth. I do not care what anybody else thinks of this unit, it is worth the cost to me as just I beleive my health is worth the effort. It is easy to use, comes with many attachments, very quiet. I do not mind cleaning it even when I am in a hurry as the unit is now part of my family...Me , my wife, and my Greenstar!
