(More customer reviews)This is a nice product - it's heavier & larger than I would have expected, but it is simple to use.
It juices pretty much everything, and the pulp that is left over is really quite dry - more so than a lot of the centrifugal juicers I have used.
I went for this model over some of the others because I wanted something that was a little more multipurpose. So far I have made several batches of pasta with it - really rather good too!
Cleaning is straightforward, there's not that many nooks & crannies to get worked up about, the screen cleans easily with any soft brush, the toothbrush supplied is good enough.
In all there's the outer housing for the auger, the auger itself, the screen and the end cap & nozzle. These parts have all made it through the dishwasher - the screen is the only piece you really need to do by hand... the other bits all seem to come perfectly clean with a good rinse in hot water (after juicing, anyway).
The auger does it's job nicely, the motor seems to be suitably powerful.
About as loud as a regular food processor.
The only thing I would say is that perhaps the buttons should be sealed.
The instruction manual is simplistic, but there are a wealth of recipes available elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)This is the worst piece I own by Cuisinart. I generally like their products but this thing stinks. My girlfriend bought me this for X-Mas (after I picked it out!). Let me say that I would give it negative stars if possible. I now have to waste time and fuel to drive it back to the store to recuperate the cost. The thing fell apart after 1/8 of an onion--which is, btw, all the space this thing has to chop. Was not sharp enough to cut through the tougher, outer onion layer. P-l-e-a-s-e! I took it all the way apart to see what could possibly "jam" a manual food chopper. I noticed that the blade piece unscrewed from the hand piece. No problem, right? Wrong, wrong! The pieces would not stay together. Needless to say that it almost ruined X-Mas once my girlfriend had to go digging through the trash for the receipt . . .

World Cuisine A4982799 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer Review

(More customer reviews)For the money this is not a bad spiral slicer considering some list for over 100 dollars. The real sticking point is the fixed forward axle for whatever you are slicing. It consists of a round hollow cutting edge with an approximate 3/8 opening. This simply means whatever you are slicing will lose a 3/8 cylinder from its center. This is accepatable with Cucumbers and Zuchini but does not leave much when slicing Carrots, Raddishes or any other small diameter veggies.
I would not recommend this if you intend to use it for these smaller veggies but for potatoes, Apples and the like it is OK.

(More customer reviews)Prior to buying this hand mixer, I always seemed to end up cooking in qalley type kitchens, without the counter space or storage for a stand mixer. Plus I seemed to burn up the motors on any hand mixer I ever bought. I thought I simply asked unfair performance from hand mixers. About the time I burned up the motor in my third hand mixer I saw an ad in a cooking magazine for the then new to the market KitchenAid hand mixer.
So I went out and checked it out. Here are the reasons I bought this hand mixer: a) it was made by KitchenAid; b) it looked like it was easy to clean; c) When compared to the more expensive model with additional speeds, I thought the five speeds would meet my needs; d) It had a "nice feel" to it - it was light weight yet seemed substantial, and well built and well designed.
I have used this mixer ever since, I think it's been about four years (maybe longer), and it has always lived up to my expectations. The five speed model when I bought mine did not come with a dough hook attachment, so I cannot speak to its ability to handle yeast dough; however, it has unfailingly whipped and mixed every concoction I've put it in without any signs of strain. It is easy to clean with its seamless design, as the editorial points out. I enjoy using this mixer, and highly recommend this mixer as a very well designed basic, efficient, and reliable hand mixer.

My god, this thing is awesome!
It actually changes the color as it heats! Yes, I know that product description says that, but reading about it is one thing; actually seeing is another. This is just sick.
It has a built-in digital thermometer!
Now when I am desperately waiting for the kettle to heat up, not only I can see the whole thing lit up and change the color like a Christmas tree, I can also watch the thermometer counting the degrees.
The best kettle a geek can have.
Oh BTW, the tea tastes fine, it heats up pretty fast, etc, etc.
PS: Too bad it does not have a wi-fi module with SNMP on it; but next model surely will.

Hamilton Beach 62650 6-Speed Classic Hand Mixer, Silver Review

(More customer reviews)I don't own a stand mixer, and until just recently, I relied mostly on my housemate's hand mixer. However, due to the fast approaching holiday baking season, I decided to get a hand mixer of my own. I like the Hamilton Beach line of hand mixers since they are cheap, and, from my experience with my housemate's hand mixer, they can stand up well to light/medium mixing jobs (about 3 years so far). I especially like the snap-on case in which to store all the attachments. I had the opportunity to get one of the name brand Kitchen Aid / Cuisinart hand mixers earlier this year, but I had gotten so used to the practicality of the attached storage case that I passed on buying the name brand ones.
I prefer my housemate's hand mixer for the cord storage, since I can wrap the power cord around the hidden compartment at one end, whereas with this one, the cord is just stuffed into the snap-on storage case, along with all the beaters. I also dislike the "traditional beater" with the center post that this mixer comes with, but my housemate's comes with the "twisted wire" beater than doesn't have the center post down through the middle. Also, the snap-on storage case is harder to remove for this mixer compared to my housemate's. However, the case is gradually getting easier to put on and take off, so hopefully it will eventually reach a state where the case is easy on, easy off.
So far, my housemate and I have used either this mixer, or the Hamilton Beach 62676 Performance Plus mixer for: whipped cream, whipped egg whites, banana bread, muffins and other quick breads, cupcakes, boxed cake mixes, cakes from scratch, frosting, brownies, soft cookie doughs, etc. This mixer is definitely not for mixing bread doughs or stiffer cookie doughs. For many cookie doughs, you just need to fold in by hand ingredients like chocolate chips or nuts after mixing the base dough, so this hasn't really been a problem yet for me.
The main drawback with this hand mixer is that the front ventilation slashes on the mixer body can get lightly dusted or splashed with whatever you are mixing, but I've yet to see/use a hand mixer that doesn't suffer from this problem.
I recommend this mixer as a practical solution for light to medium mixing jobs, although I'd rate the Hamilton Beach 62676 Performance Plus mixer as slightly better, due to the wrap-around hidden cord compartment, and the fact that its main beaters do not have the center post down through the middle. For tougher jobs, though, more expensive hand mixers may be necessary, but so far, the Hamilton Beach 62650 6-Speed Classic Hand Mixer, Silver has done a good job of every mixing task I've thrown at it.

Cuisinart WM-PZ2 Pizzelle Press Review

(More customer reviews)This is exactly what I was looking for. It works great and I was making perfect pizzelles in no time at all. I pulled it out of the box, mixed up some batter with the including instruction book and I had pizzelles! They tasted great! The iron heated up quickly and held the temperature constant throughout. The instruction book has recipes for regular vanilla pizzelles and anise ones as well as a chocolate version and another fancier one. I only tried the basic one so far because that what we like but the recipe is easy to follow. I just dumped all the ingredients together and a baking I was. This product was everything I expected and more. You can only make 2 at a time but they go so quickly I had dozens made in no time at all. I was worried when I bought this since it was the cheapest one Amazon had but I didn't want to spend the extra money and I'm glad I didn't. This is a really great product and I can't think of anything I didn't like about it.

Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer Review

(More customer reviews)I own the Cuisinart Power Advantage 5-Speed Handheld Mixer since early April 2009 and I am quiet happy with it thus far. In all fairness, this is my second handheld mixer and my previous mixer (Proctor Silex 62535 Bowl Rest 5-Speed Mixer, White) was a very weak mixer, which simply did not have the power to mix any semi-thick dough. This Cuisinart mixer has significantly more power (220 Watts) and has little trouble mixing most dough, excluding bread dough of course. This mixer has an automatic feedback mechanism which was the main reason I decided to purchase it. Unlike most mixers which supply their motors with different electric powers at different settings, this mixer supplies electric power partially based on the mixing speeds. In other words, it will supply an extra burst of power to the motor when the mixing speed is slow, like mixing tough dough. It only does so temporarily to avoid over heating the motor. It has five speed settings, which is exactly what I want. For those who like additional speed settings, there is the Cuisinart HM-70 Power Advantage 7-Speed Hand Mixer, Stainless and White. Keep in mind, their top speeds are the same as they are both powered by a 220 Watts motor. In my opinion, the slow speed setting of this mixer is a bit too fast. Beside the power, the mixer has three other features which I like a lot. First, it can sit nicely on a mixing bowl (when the power is off). Second, the power cord can swing left or right to allow the unit to securely sit upright. I have uploaded two customer images to illustrate this. Third, the beaters are easy to clean. Finally, the beaters can be effortlessly ejected by using the level. Looking at the photo, you may think this mixer has a semi-dull black. In reality, it has a shiny glossy black, which I think, looks even better. For those who prefer white color there is the: Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer, Stainless and White
In summary, this is a powerful and affordable handheld mixer (not powerful compared to stand mixers)
Update:
I do have one compliant. Years ago, customers were able to take their home appliances apart to fix them. Unfortunately, this mixer is not one of those. Cuisinart have sealed off the screw holes and prevented customers from opening up the mixer. My mixer was making some scratchy noises and I could tell it just needed some machine oil/lubrication. Instead of taking the unit apart and adding oil, I had no choice but to pour the oil from outside through the exhaust fan hole, hoping it will get to the place. It did somewhat, and now the noise has been minimized. However, it should have been more straightforward than this.
I still think this is a very nice mixer for its utility and affordable price, and I would still strongly recommend other potential buyers to consider it. However, it would have been nicer if the screw holes are not sealed.
*Update on late Nov 2009*: The mixer is still working fine -- bought it since April 2009. The scratchy metal noise has not come back for some time. By the way, I use this mixer about 3 times per month for cookies and pastries. I hope this illustrates how often this mixer is being used. I am very satisfied with the product thus far.
