Also, I've always had trouble with frozen drink mixes (the bottom blends, but the top part never moves down to the bottom). I always thought I didn't do it right. I never have that problem with this blender -- cheers to a well blended margarita!

(More customer reviews)We have owned this for over 3 months now. It is our first rice cooker and I have only praise for it. But make sure that this fits your needs, otherwise you might be disappointed.
1. We use it pretty much only when we are traveling.
2. For two people, the quantity is just right. (If there are more members, a bigger volume cooker might be a better option.)
3. We read the earlier reviews and we switch off the cooker once the switch turns to warm after the rice is done.
4. We have made noodles and attempted a few Indian dishes (upma) which turned out quite fine.
5. If you wash the rice in the pot, it is a good idea to wipe the outside of the pot with a dry cloth before placing it in the cooker. That way the water won't ruin anything inside.
Just a couple of drawback:
** The amount of water needed varies slightly with each brand of rice. So I pretty much ignored their instructions and got it right after varying the water amount for 2-3 experiments.
** The etched measurement levels and water level markings in the dark background are pretty much impossible to read.
Overall, for the price, it is a great product. I think we recovered our money in the first 2 weeks itself.

(More customer reviews)This is the worst piece I own by Cuisinart. I generally like their products but this thing stinks. My girlfriend bought me this for X-Mas (after I picked it out!). Let me say that I would give it negative stars if possible. I now have to waste time and fuel to drive it back to the store to recuperate the cost. The thing fell apart after 1/8 of an onion--which is, btw, all the space this thing has to chop. Was not sharp enough to cut through the tougher, outer onion layer. P-l-e-a-s-e! I took it all the way apart to see what could possibly "jam" a manual food chopper. I noticed that the blade piece unscrewed from the hand piece. No problem, right? Wrong, wrong! The pieces would not stay together. Needless to say that it almost ruined X-Mas once my girlfriend had to go digging through the trash for the receipt . . .

(More customer reviews)OK, first off, all the 1.5qt ice cream makers on the market -- this one, Cuisinart's, and Krups' -- are fundamentally the same. It's a metal bucket full of some fluid that you put in the freezer; it gets very cold, cold enough to freeze 1.5qts of ice cream mix. That, and it's a motor with a mixing arm. That's really it.
So I figured, when I bought this one, that I was getting a deal; it's the cheapest of the three. Now that I've used it a few times, I'm wishing I'd just splurged, spent the extra twenty bucks, and gotten either of the others.
The mixing blade on this model doesn't seem to actually mix very well. I made a cantaloupe sherbet last night and I looked into the bowl as the arm turned, and it was just shoving the sherbet around in a circle. It wasn't churning. The sherbet wasn't frozen solid or anything, it was still pretty slushy. The arm just seems poorly designed.
I think the motor's pretty weak, too. It turns so slowly that it doesn't need to be very strong, they just gear it way down and even a weak motor can push pretty hard. But this routinely gets stuck on bits of ice cream that freeze in a layer on the bottom of the bucket. I made a frozen yogurt, which you have to put in the bucket to start (vs. pouring it through the opening while it's running) because of the thickness of the yogurt, and it had real problems churning after that. I ended up having to churn it by hand with a spatula for a while at the end.
Finally, there are just design details that aren't very good about this. The top of the motor / lid assembly is sloped, and the on/off switch is on that surface and protrudes a bit.
When you take that motor / lid off and set it down, the obvious way to do it is to rest it on its top (with the mixing arm sticking up.) This invariably hits that switch and turns it on. Whenever I'm taking it off, I'm trying to move quickly, stir the ice cream or scoop it off into a container to put in the freezer, so it's always irritating to take that lid off, quickly set it down, and have it turn on, the mixing arm starts turning, ice cream splatters, etc. This happens every time. There's not really a better way to set it down. So I have to unplug it whenever I want to put it down on the counter. It's just not very well thought-through.
Similarly, the locking mechanism involves pivoting that big blue arm up and over from one side to the other, which is cumbersome; the electric cord gets in the way, and even when you get it right, it's not a terribly snug fit; the motor can rock back and forth a bit.
Overall, you get what you pay for, and the other brands really aren't that much more expensive. Don't be a tightwad like me; splurge for one of them instead of this.

For the price and for the size, this microwave works rather well. There are some extra functions, but I just use the regular microwaving. The only thing that I do not like about the microwave is that its internal rotating dish is not very stable, and is prone to shifting off its base with even a slightly unbalanced load. Even so, it was a worthwhile purchase.

Waring Pro MG100 Meat Grinder Review

(More customer reviews)I noticed some negative customer reviews for this item; its due to lack of food experience. This machine works very well, however, you do have to compensate for the fact that it's a home machine and it has a small feeding tube. You cannot put your average sized 1 inch/1 inch cube into the feeding tube. Yes, it will fit, but no it wont do a good job. Think about it, the big industrial machines take cubes that size. You also cannot run the machine without a steady flow of meat or have it running on empty. One of the reviews said that the machine burned out on the first try. Probably an overexageration but these machines will burn out if you run it on empty of do not keep a steady flow going through the feeding tube.
I have been using a hand grinder for several months and although it made my arms look good, the job was really really tough and a lot of waste...due to the huge auger. This machine was a blessing; just be reasonable, and calm about using it, and the job will come out perfectly. Happy grinding and cheers to any and all who are out there honing and preseving the craft.

I decided to purchase this coffee maker knowing that there may be some minor issues with it - what doesn't these days? After many years of buying coffee makers I have found there is no "perfect" coffee maker that will make everyone happy. You just need to decide what is important to you and your family. That said, after about three weeks of use I found it to be exactly what I was looking for - it makes HOT coffee, the carafe DOESN'T drip and I didn't need to use a manual to set up the clock and timer! If this is what you are looking for stop reading and purchase this unit now. Enjoy the coffee maker...
For those that really need to know more before purchasing continue reading:
- This coffee maker uses basket shaped filters. So you can give your neighbor your unused cone shaped paper filters you may still have.
- The water reservoir does have a rather small opening but it is not too small like some very expensive coffee makers I have seen. Some may find it easier to use a large cup a couple of times to fill the reservoir instead of using the carafe. Either way I never needed to turn the coffee maker sideways to fill the reservoir.
- The water spout does swivel to allow you to install the filter and add coffee. You only need to move it once that is if you fill the water reservoir first. When closing the lid it will move the spout back into the proper position so you don't have to remember to do it yourself.
- I too had a defective carafe that leaked at the top between the plastic rim and glass. I called customer service, waited a few minutes, and spoke to someone in the USA. It was replaced within a few days at no charge. I sealed the original carafe until the replacement arrived.
- I never had an issue with pouring a cup of coffee using the auto pause and serve feature. Besides, how often do you really "need" to have a cup of coffee before it is done brewing? If you are that desperate, set the timer so it is done brewing before you get up in the morning.

Cuisinart DFP-7BC 7 Cup Food Processor Review

(More customer reviews)I use my Cuisinart primarily for chopping veggies or making my own ground beef. I can use more flavorful cuts than the leftover bits usually made into ground beef and control the texture to my preference.
The Cuisinart 7 Cup performs great for my needs. It's both powerful and very quiet. Cheap proccessors with side mounted, belt driven motors are usually so noisy that you don't want to bother with them.
Others may disagree, but I find Cuisinart's safety interlocks only a minor hassle. The small center feed tube isn't interlocked and is useful for adding ingredients while processing.
I looked at other food processors in stores before I bought the Cuisinart, and found I prefer the ergonomic feel and control of the old-fashioned Cuisinart paddle switch. Whether it be the new Cuisinarts or KitchenAids, I don't like to have to search around for the little sealed-dome lumps on modern control panels. The first time you use the Cuisinart up-for-on / down-for-pulse lever switch, it's so easy and intuitive, you don't have to look to use it ever again. I've never regretted my choice - I love the paddle!
When your fingers are wet or messy, you can press the lever down to pulse with a knuckle much more easily than trying to find the right tiny plastic bump on a typical control panel.
If you actually like membrane switches, the KitchenAid food processors are good choices, too, but the Cuisinart classic paddle / lever switch is the trump card for me.

(More customer reviews)I don't know why some people don't like this item. I picked a bunch of oranges just finished "juicing" about two gallons orange juice without a hitch. Once you understand what this item is designed to do and you don't try to do more... like juicing a watermelon then it's GREAT! I think the main problem some people have is this thing has torque and if you try to grind on it, it will spin. I've seen the videos and read the negative comments. Come on guys, read the instructions and use some common sense! How many hands and how much pressure do you need to juice half an orange. Let the machine do it's job. If starts to move then hold on to the base with your free hand. Oh, and make sure you put the cord through the little notch in the base and it sits flush. This thing also has a auto-reversing feature that is trick but what I really like about this item is the "washing machine spin". Talk about getting every last drop. Some people don't like pulp, I like pulp... it's an ORANGE! Jeese guys, this is as fresh as your going to get. Juice, pulp, seeds, core, bugs, and what ever else in that orange will get "juiced" and end up in your glass. This is as fresh and natural and you can get. You don't like pulp... tough. Some people whine about the spout, it's a spout, get a small glass under it (I used a 2 cup measuring glass) and catch the juice! Yes it will clog up after about a cup or two, it's called "PULP". Clean it out and get back to juicing. Some people complain about too many parts to clean, all three (3) of them... get a life. Heck, I like this item so much and at such a great price I'm going to order two more just because I can. I don't know of another citrus juicer out there with this auto-reversing and spin feature for $12.00 refurbished.
