Chefmate 1 1/2 Cup Food Chopper Review

Chefmate 1 1/2 Cup Food Chopper
Average Reviews:

As its name claims, it is a chopper. I bought this to make some baby foods, but no matter how long I push the button, it won't purée anything.
If you want a chopper, this does a good job. But if you expect more, maybe you shouldn't buy it.

Purchased this pusher to use with the Kitchenaid wide mouth chute and was pleasantly surprised to see it is a actually a dual pusher. There's an inner pusher cyclinder that you can use for narrowier items like carrots. The two for one capability is a definite plus.

Magimix Cuisine Systeme 5150 Review

Magimix Cuisine Systeme 5150
Average Reviews:

Few are the times when you feel good after spending >$500 on kitchen stuff, but this is one of those. Looks good, and performs even better. Fairly easy to clean, and even the little booklet that comes with it provides classic knowledge in the fine art of French cooking (you can tell it's a direct translation from French; like set oven to 355°F....).
Had it for 2 weeks now, and it feels like I can do things with more confidence compared to the various brands I have had before (name it, and I probably owned it). This is a "no BS" machine that does what it says, period! And quietly, I might add.
This together with my Le Creuset cookware are my favorites in the kitchen right now.
Sorry Amazon, but I ended up buying it from another vendor. Don't know why, really...

Magimix Cuisine Systeme 5150 Extra Work Bowls Review

Magimix Cuisine Systeme 5150 Extra Work Bowls
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love my Magimix food processor (Magimix Cuisine Systeme 5150: Black) beyond reason and sometimes use it multiple times in one day, especially in summer when I'm processing all the garden's bounty and at holiday time. The bowls that came with the unit are sturdy and easy to clean, so I don't really need extras to replace the originals, but figured when an excellent promotion came along, getting more as standbys was a good idea. While I don't see my originals breaking, it will make things go faster not to have to wash them as much in between activities. They just arrived today and I'm planning to prepare several batches of bread and rolls so they'll immediately be put to work. And then, of course all those pies coming up, breadcrumbs for stuffing, chopped nuts, chopped herbs, dressings, relishes. They'll get a workout over the holidays for sure. This food processor is my favorite kitchen appliance and these extra bowls will increase its usefullness even more.

Stars to lag when making soups and puree, gets hot. Small plastic pieces will break. Food gets lodged into handle, molds- then stinks and when you want to clean it out you quickly notice its not easy and very time consuming(poor design).

This processor is a waste of money. It worked for all of six months. The chute design was also annoying--it didn't work as intended, and once you lose the little plastic guard piece, it only serves to make a mess. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a processor that isn't being produced as cheaply as possible per Wal-Mart's requirements.

This is a nice little electric chopper/food processor.
It does everything you'd expect it to do and comes at an affordable price.
If you are doing a large meal it might be smart to go for one of the bigger choppers out there. But if its just for a few people this little guy does the job.

Mirro Foley 3.5-Quart Stainless Steel Food Mill Review

Mirro Foley 3.5-Quart Stainless Steel Food Mill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this food mill because it's the same design as the food mill my grandmother has had for decades. I've been using it the past few weeks to make tomato gazpacho. This food mill is more than up to the task.
The stainless steel surface is easy to keep clean, and it disassembles for even easier cleaning. As a nice touch, the diameter of the scraper wire on the bottom of the mill is just a fraction smaller than the grill holes, which means that if you have seeds lodged in any of the holes after cleaning, you can use the scraper wire to knock them out.
The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the double-loop handle can be uncomfortable to hold after a while. (I can understand why they used the double-loop design--because it stays cooler if you're milling over a heated pot--but I think I would've preferred having a more comfortable handle and using a potholder if necessary.)

Black and Decker FP2510S 10-Cup 500-Watt Wide-Mouth Food Processor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have found this machine to be very versatile and powerful. I have been able to make pie dough, margaritas, shred a block of cheese in no time as well as carrots for salads and potatoes for hashed browns and in a very short amount of time. Now, the only reason why I do not give this 5 stars is for 2 major reasons. One is because I make apple pies regularly and had hoped this can help make slices for me, which it cannot because although it is marketed as ''wide mouth'', I have found that it isn't wide enough to take on a half of an apple through the feeding tube. Second, is that you HAVE to assemble all the top parts of the machine for it to work, so you are limited to having to cut your food items in order to fit through the rather snug feeding tube. Overall, the blades and machinery are great and handles most jobs really well.

With its powerful 500-watt motor, this convenient food processor quickly and easily slices, dices, chops, and purees, helping to reduce prep time in the kitchen. The unit features a 10-cup work bowl and a wide-mouth design and food pusher for adding food while continuously processing. In addition, its smooth touchpad control panel offers three buttons for selecting low and high speed settings or "pulse" to deliver an extra burst of power when needed. Use the machine to quickly blend up small or large batches of pesto, chop onions and green peppers for a veggie pizza, or shred cheese for omelets on a Sunday morning--the options are endless. Accessories include a reversible slicing and shredding disc, a dough blade, and a 3-cup mini chopper. The food processor measures approximately 11-2/7 by 9-2/5 by 21 inches, and all removable parts can go in the dishwasher for quick cleanup.

KitchenAid KFPW760 Food Processor, 12 Cup Wide Mouth Review

KitchenAid KFPW760 Food Processor, 12 Cup Wide Mouth
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very unhappy with this much touted processor You can't make a decent pesto sauce, neither the small blade for mini bowl, or normal multipurpose blade chops basil or small leaves well..For pesto you need a different appliance or mortar and pestle, not this behemoth. Worse, it is impossible to clean the multipurpose blade inside the shaft. When you make a paste or forcemeat it sticks like crazy glue to the plastic and no amount of soaking, heavy duty cycles in the dishwasher or wishful thinking can get the gunk out of the blade. Other foods stick to the plastic bowl - very difficult to clean, even after two runs in a good dishwasher. Kitchen Aid customer service couldn't offer any advice. Totally useless to call them. They are of absolutely no help.
This appliance is very heavy, don't count on taking it out each time. It has to have a dedicated spot on the counter. Doesn't come with fine slicing or shredding blade. Pulse action works well. Next time I'll go back to the more reliable and user-friendly Cuisinart.

I am just replacing this very item and am glad to see it still made, we've had this CFP at our pub for over twelve years and it has been used on a daily basis to make; hummus, dressings,chop/ puree items. The buttons are worn out and it over heats in its old age...but that is to be expected, it still works. We still have all the attachments, actually I wish i could find just the stand alone unit. We never used the attachments much, just the knife blade. It is a good investment, on the small size but reliable.

Viking 12 Cup Food Processor Review

Viking 12 Cup Food Processor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this food processor five years ago because I liked the fact that the base is metal. I figured it was so frigging expensive and so frigging solid-looking that I would never have to buy another food processor... Well, I probably never WILL have to buy another food processor...but in five years, I've had to replace the WORK BOWL three times (at $60 a pop). It is such a poorly designed piece of crap to attach to such a sturdy, reliable base...like a bullet-, water-, fire-, and shock-proof safe with a cheap plastic padlock. The shiny handle on the work bowl is metal, which is fine, but it is extremely heavy, while the bowl is shockingly flimsy plastic; the laws of physics practically guarantee that locking the big heavy handle into the base will put tremendous stress on the bowl, and eventually, the bowl will crack. Most recently, I had to replace the bowl because, instead of a cracked bowl, the handle broke off, and I was shocked and appalled to see that while the handle is metal and weighs more than a pound, the hardware that forms the locking mechanism is mostly PLASTIC! I'm stuck with this machine because, even though I could buy another food processor with the money I'd save on replacement bowls, I feel like I should keep it as long as the motor still works, but don't make the same mistake! Get a Cuisinart or a KitchenAid!

The 12 cup Viking Food Processor comes equipped with a professional-grade 625-watt induction motor. Despite its powerful, 625-watt motor, this food processor is surprisingly silent as it chops and slices ingredients from garlic to shallots. The professional performance is complemented by an exclusive Viking design and die cast metal base. The 12 cup work bowl, has larger liquid capacity to process soups and sauces. Also included is a smaller, 3-cup work bowl and blade which is great for chopping nuts or mincing herbs. In front, Viking's large control knob includes an On/Off and Pulse function. On the back, another Viking exclusive: rear wheels to help maneuver across countertops. The discs come with a caddy for storing.
