(More customer reviews)Much easier to use for processing/kneading with the metal or plastic blade than the original bulky cover.
CAUTION: The hideous red label can be a royal pain to remove without damaging the plastic. Don't use any kind of solvent (e.g., Goo Gone) because you'll wind up having to order a new cover. Oh, yes, believe you me. Sigh. Anyway, what worked for me: soak the lid in hot water first, to remove as much of the paper as possible. Then dry well, coat with oil (I used coconut oil) and allow it to sit overnight. Now you should be able to wipe off the oil and dissolved glue.

They did not have them but refered me to Amazon and found a wonderful contact there who seems to have a complete stock of older replacement parts. Highly recommend anyone do the same before pitching your older appliances and investing in new ones! The older one is much heavier and won't bounce around as some of the newer models may.

Oster 4961 Ice Blade Review

Lately, the margaritas were coming out with chunks of ice, and I thought it was because the motor was getting weak. After reading the reviews, I decided to try replacing the blade rather than forking out for an entire new blender. OH MY WORD!!!!! It truly is like having a new blender!! The margaritas are so smooth... no more ice chunks! I don't care where it is made - it will renew your old blender. Highly recommended.

Viking 12 Cup Food Processor Review

(More customer reviews)I got this food processor five years ago because I liked the fact that the base is metal. I figured it was so frigging expensive and so frigging solid-looking that I would never have to buy another food processor... Well, I probably never WILL have to buy another food processor...but in five years, I've had to replace the WORK BOWL three times (at $60 a pop). It is such a poorly designed piece of crap to attach to such a sturdy, reliable base...like a bullet-, water-, fire-, and shock-proof safe with a cheap plastic padlock. The shiny handle on the work bowl is metal, which is fine, but it is extremely heavy, while the bowl is shockingly flimsy plastic; the laws of physics practically guarantee that locking the big heavy handle into the base will put tremendous stress on the bowl, and eventually, the bowl will crack. Most recently, I had to replace the bowl because, instead of a cracked bowl, the handle broke off, and I was shocked and appalled to see that while the handle is metal and weighs more than a pound, the hardware that forms the locking mechanism is mostly PLASTIC! I'm stuck with this machine because, even though I could buy another food processor with the money I'd save on replacement bowls, I feel like I should keep it as long as the motor still works, but don't make the same mistake! Get a Cuisinart or a KitchenAid!

(More customer reviews)This bowl does NOT fit the the other parts that come with the Cuisinart Pro Custom 11 model DLC-8S from either the 80's or right now. Both of my original bowls have two tabs on the top to hold the various lids on, while this model has three - thus no way to activate the safety system so you can use it. It does appear to be made by Cuisinart, but the plastic is much thinner than that on the originals for those two models.

The pins have broken on 2 carafes and it becomes dificult for the coffee maker to brew "into" the carafe. In talking with others who have the Cuisinart Grind & Brew we have found this to be a common problem. We are staying with the Cuisinart Grind & Brew line, but we are placing our order for the "new" Stainless model.

(More customer reviews)As others state the work bowl is well made but there seems to be some variance in the manufacturing of these bowls. In my case the top will need to be sanded as the size (diameter) is not to the tolerance of the original top piece as well as a small piece of the interlock at the top needs to be cut/removed in order for the lid to fully rotate onto and lock with the bowl. This is at the top of the interlock pin housing. If you are not up to these tasks of adoption you will be shooting in the dark as to the instant fitting and adaptability of this bowl. As I am a long time engineer and fix it guy this task is nothing more than an inconvenience but for others it could present a major problem.
