(More customer reviews)This is a the second grind && brew coffee maker I've owned. The first one was a Capresso disaster that makes this machine look like a miracle of modern design.
- you have to clean the coffee grinder after each use, because the steam collects there and converts the leftover coffee grinds into a sludge. However, the component does remove for placing in the dishwasher, so if you are only planning to brew one cup of coffee in the morning and then put everything in the dishwasher, then that's not a problem. Otherwise, you're always cleaning that.
- the filter cup is prone to popping out while brewing. This is a problem that seems to be getting worse with wear. It never happened initially, but not after 2+ yrs it happens more and more. I'm considered tacking a latch in it or something.
- an earlier poster complained about the quality of the coffee. I've not noticed any difference here - coffee seems fine. I'm also another coffee fanatic (anybody buying this machine would have to be)
- the combined coffee machine & grinder has a small footprint, which I like.

Attractively housed in stainless steel with elegant Italian styling, this 10-cup coffeemaker combines automatic bean grinding and coffee brewing into one convenient unit. Freshly ground coffee beans contain natural oils that contribute to the natural, complex flavor. As ground coffee sits, these oils dissipate and their unique properties fade. Grinding whole beans right before brewing ensures exceptionally flavorful results. In addition to its built-in grinder, the coffeemaker provides a 24-hour programmable timer, which allows for brewing "wake-up" coffee. Removing the carafe from the warming plate pauses the brewing process and allows for a quick pour, and its automatic shut-off function turns the unit off up to four hours after brewing has completed. A digital clock and simple controls make the appliance exceptionally easy to operate, and the automatic grinder can be turned off when using pre-ground coffee. Other thoughtful details include a 10-cup glass carafe, an easy-to-fill reservoir, and a 1- to 4-cup setting for brewing smaller amounts of coffee without any loss of flavor. The separate grind chamber cleans easily, and all removable parts are dishwasher-safe. Accessories include a paper basket filter starter kit and an instruction book. The coffeemaker measures approximately 7-1/2 by 7-3/4 by 15 inches.
