New Metro Design Beater Blade for Cuisinart, DeLonghi, & Viking 7-Quart Mixers Review

New Metro Design Beater Blade for Cuisinart, DeLonghi, and Viking 7-Quart Mixers

I purchased the Beater Blade to use with my Viking 7-Qt. mixer; my primary use of that machine is making artisan breads.
I love my Viking mixer for bread making, but occasionally use it to make cookies which contain a high proportion of oatmeal. Thus, the dry ingredients are prone to gathering along the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl and require that I stop the mixer, lift the head and move the ingredients using a spatula. While that isn't exactly a Herculean task, it is annoying. However, due to a stubborn streak and a less than industrious attitude on the particular day, I tried scraping the side of the bowl while the mixer was down and moving - even though I know better. The result was a broken spatula - just as one would expect.
When I saw this Beater Blade, I thought it might solve the problem. Once you have adjusted the Beater Blade, it does an excellent job of clearing the sides and bottom of the bowl. If you mix a lot of cookie dough or batter-type foods, then this item is well worth the money you will spend for it. The Beater Blade doesn't generate heat like the metal beaters, and, as a result, shortenings do not melt during creaming. The final product is much less "soupy" than when making cookie doughs using a metal beater. However, if you use your mixer primarily for breads, as I do, then the the Beater Blade is probably something you can live without.
I rated this item four stars because its utility is questionable in relation to the cost. Further, I have some concern about the longevity of the blade itself and whether it will wear quickly or whether it will become brittle if washed in the dishwasher.

New Metro Design Beater Blade Pro Food Service and Restaurant Use KitchenAid Tilt Head Models Review

I bought this product after being somewhat disappointed with the flat beater which came with the Kitchenaid. With the normal flat beater, I was having to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl several times during the mixing process for cakes and biscuits and almost felt let down after having desired my Kitchenaid for years before I could actually afford it!
Well, within seconds of using my new beater blade I felt relief and excitement that the Kitchenaid was finally working as it should. This product scrapes the sides and bottom automatically producing lovely fluffy results. Highly recommended for anyone who bakes a lot.

New Metro Design\'s beater blade is an electric mixer attachment which thoroughly mixes batter, eliminating the need to stop and scrape the bowl manually. Model ka-th pro fits all kitchenaid tilt head mixers regardless of the kitchenaid model numbers. This pro model is designed with a stronger and more resilient material that can withstand heavy use and higher dishwasher temperatures. It's the perfect choice for commercial kitchens, bakeries, cooking schools or the home cook, if the beater blade will be used three times a week or more. Yellow colored body – for easy identification in large commercial drawers, bins, and dishwasher racks. Beater blades are engineered for use with top brand electric stand mixers, including most models offered by kitchenaid, cuisinart, delonghi and viking. A beater blade attachment beats, scrapes, folds and incorporates ingredients thoroughly for fool-proof baking. The new beater blade+ ingeniously improves on the functionality of standard v-shaped beaters offered with high-end stand mixers by crafting a high-quality, enhanced blade that includes a flexible rubber wing down the entire length of both sides of the blade. The durable, food-grade edging simulates the action of a powerful spatula to gently, yet thoroughly scrape the bowl clean. The wing-system design acts like a wiper blade that continuously scrapes sides and bottom of bowl while it mixes virtually eliminating hand-scraping and batter build-up on the blade. Beater blade\'s state-of-the-art design continuously and automatically scrapes batters during mixing, which can speed up the process by as much as 50-percent. By eliminating the need to turn off and on the mixer to scrape the bowl, beater blade reduces wear of the motor of the mixer, as well. New Metro Design\'s beater blade excels in a full range of mixing applications, including creaming butter, sugar and eggs to fluffy perfection, and preparing frostings and pastry creams quickly and easily.

New Metro Design Beater Blade for 5-Quart KitchenAid Bowl Lift Mixers Review

I love my beater blade, so I'm giving this a 5. I agree with all of the great things that everyone says about this stand mixer attachment. HOWEVER--my stand mixer is a Professional 5 Plus, and though it is considered a 5 quart mixer, this blade DOES NOT fit. If you go to the BeaterBlade.com website, or to Amazon's webpage for the 6 quart KitchenAid BeaterBlade, you will find that the Pro5 line requires the BeaterBlade for the 6 quart KitchenAid models. I'm writing this review to prevent others from making the same mistake I did. DO buy the BeaterBlade attachment though--it is a wonder!

I've had a 6 quart Kitchen Aid for two years now and one of the biggest problem is their poor blade design that doesn't get nearly enough of the batter. I can't believe how well this beater blade fixes the problem - where has it been? I love it! It gets into every single spot, cuts down on beating time (mostly time spent scraping the bowl with a spatula). This is a must have for anyone with a Kitchen Aid Mixer!
