(More customer reviews)I really like this slicer! I don't use it too often, but nevertheless, I'm kicking myself for not purchasing it sooner. I received my Cuisinart processor as a wedding gift several years ago, but never watched the video which accompanied it. I finally watched it and saw what things I could do with additional slicing tools. I like using this to slice cucumbers and carrots. Very fast and even slices. The grater has been wonderful for cheese, saving me hours of pain that would be caused by doing it by hand.

(More customer reviews)I just bought three cuisinart dlc-5 food processors: first one for myself and then later two as gifts. I wanted more flexibility in the range of foods I could process; and as a result click on the Amazon accessory link for a 3mm slicing disc. This disk did not fit my food process.
I returned it, but Amazon was asking me to pay the return freight, as it was "my fault". I disagreed, and am awaiting the final outcome.
Not withstanding the outcome, I looked closer at the other links in order to buy more disks, and I see some of the other accessory links are not much better. April 2004

(More customer reviews)I love my new Cuisinart 6-Millimeter Thick Slicing Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor and I'm very glad I bought it.
I am a raw vegan and use my PowerPrep almost every day. I find my accessory discs in addition to those that are included with the Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14-Cup Capacity Food Processor, White to be indispensable. I was debating between investing in this or the 8-Millimeter Extra Thick disc but after testing the 6-Millimeter extensively for the slicing jobs which I needed a thicker blade, the 6-Millimeter served me exceedingly well. I was very satisfied with the finished product ~ uniformly thick slices of yams, potatoes and zucchini for raw, dehydrated chips and consider the Cuisinart 6-Millimeter Thick Slicing Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor another essential for my food processor.
The 6-mm slice was really perfect for the yams and potatoes. The zucchini also sliced beautifully but really shrunk to paper thinness after dehydrating. The finished chips are still yummy and make a nice, healthy snack but I think I would like them even better if they were sliced thicker before dehydrating. So, I might still like the even thicker 8-mm blade someday, particularly for zucchini and other veggies like tomatoes and cucumbers or fruits like kiwi and apples which are softer and have a higher moisture content.
I can see myself also putting the 8-mm disc to a lot of good use and it is on my wish list but in the meantime, the 6-mm is more than adequate for my projects. These accessories are spendy but I think they are well worth their cost.

Cuisinart Fine Grater Disc, fits 14-Cup Processor Review

(More customer reviews)Using this disk and my Cuisinart is so much easier than grating hard Parmesan on a Microplane grater. I use this whenever I need more than a couple of tablespoons of hard cheese. Since I usually make Italian food this disc has been a great help in my kitchen.
If you hate grating your own Parmesan on a microplane give this a try, I think you will love it.
It is also nice for grating dark chocolate so that it melts more quickly in a double boiler.
I highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this hoping to make homemade french fries and sweet potato fries. I used it immediately but was slightly disappointed in how thin the potatoes came out. I was expecting the fries to be more like a crinkle cut thickness and this was more of a shoestring size. I personally feel the discs should be cheaper or more of them included in the original purchase of your Cuisinart as they are pricey. I have the 14 cup model and the discs are all very expensive, especially when you realize that they don't quite meet up to what you expected, therefore, you are less apt to use it. I would consider this more of a julienne cut rather than a french fry cut.

I found this more beneficial than other types of holders because I leave my chopping blade in the Cuisinart for storage and only needed a place for the blades. Very basic and does not take up much space. I would definitely recommend them. I have two.

Cuisinart DLC-041-1 Food Processor 1mm Ultra-thin Slicing Disc Review

(More customer reviews)Though I enjoy my Cuisinart food processor very much, and was a little too gung-ho when I first bought it as I purchased all the different blades and attachments, after several months of usage I can say that you probably don't need this 1mm blade. I use it to slice carrot, radishes, cucumbers, and peppers for salads but it does slice extremely thin and the 2mm is not much different. It is high quality and much overpriced and ultimately I will struggle over the life of the unit to get my money out of this one as there just are not that many times when you want razor thin food that doesn't turn to mush. The 2mm blade helps to keep the food more solid and provides more crunch. If you are a caterer and need to stretch food by cutting it ultra thin then this one's for you but average cooks can use the 2mm and be just fine. If anything I would recommend the larger slicing blades as they can be used for meats and stir-frys, while this one merely just sits on the shelf.

(More customer reviews)The standard set is invaluable, but there are still many things I couldn't do. With this 3-piece set, I now have almost every blade needed to gourmet my way to food heaven. The julienne disk lets me do things I lack the patience for, while the thick blade lets me slice things like lettuce and tomatoes at a decent thickness, rather than the skimpy 4mm standard blade.
The fine grater is a good touch for finesse. Try doing a whole tangerine or orange by hand without scraping your fingertips and cursing the night. Blood orange never was a good color anyway.
Seriously, the set is a nice addition to the standard set of Cuisinart blades.

For me however, I ordered this item in hopes of making potato chips with it. It does not make thin enough slices for true potato chips. It's even thick for Kettle like chips. However this is great for slicing things like cucumbers for pickles. Overall it's a fine product, just didn't do what I expected.
